There are 3 different ways of organizing projects within a parent organization:
1. Functional Organisation
The project is part of the functional organization. This is best suited for small/medium-sized projects. It is an excellent choice as it can maximize staff and allows continuity of skills and experience. It's also great for employees as it can allow career advancement.
2. Pure Project Organisation
The project is a free standing part and independent of the parent organization with its own dedicated team. This is best suited for large projects where big teams are required with full-time jobs.
3. Matrix Organisation
This is a hybrid of the previous 2 types. All the employees of the organization are shared amongst the projects. Staff report simultaneously to both functional and project managers. This system is better suited for an organization with a lot of small projects where part-timers are required.
Assembling the Project Team
Forecast the personnel requirements for the life cycle of the project.
Assess the skill requirements for all the tasks
Locate individuals that can meet the project's needs.

Hi Gregory, short and sweet. You are nearly there now. I am sure you can't wait to be finished:-). Like I said in my videos, the important point here is to recognize that different organizations have different hierarchies and structures. The important thing to know is what type of structure your organization uses. Or course a properly plan and work breakdown structure is essential for organizing any project as you have quite rightly mentioned here.
Thanks
